Minnesotans can request an absentee ballot to be mailed to them, or they can vote absentee in-person at their county or local elections office, the office said in a release. Those wishing to vote absentee can start the process by requesting, in writing, a ballot by mail or by visiting the absentee election manager’s office at the Cullman County Courthouse.

A garrison voting assistance officer will be on hand to distribute and assist voters with their Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot.

Voters can request an absentee ballot be mailed to them or they can vote absentee in -person at county or location election offices.

Voters will need proof of residence in order to register.

Numerous larger municipalities in the state are extending in-person voting to accommodate what maybe a large voter turnout. There will also be other candidates and other issues on the ballot.

The Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot is acceptable to some states as both a registration form and as absentee ballot.

“I know that together we can get our state back to No. 1 in voter turnout in the country”, Simon said.

State and local officials are trying to make as much election information available to voters as possible in advance of the November 8 election.

One of the best ways to assess a candidate is to see them in action, and the Asheville Citizen-Times will provide such an opportunity with a forum for Buncombe Commission candidates on Thursday, Sept. 22, beginning at 6 p.m.in Ferguson Auditorium on the A-B Tech campus. Ken Martin, chairman of the Minnesota DFL Party, said political operatives are trying to bag as many early votes as possible.

There are a few twists voters should keep in mind; you can’t simply cast a straight-party vote. In 2014, Minnesota fell to number six.

But Downey is not a fan of the new early voting options.
