Firmino eyes being key player for Liverpool

Obviously, this led to some criticism of Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp.

Roberto Firmino missed the Chelsea game with a slight groin injury – but according to Klopp, he was nearly on the pitch. I wouldn’t say I’m a similar player, though.

Former Hoffenheim star Firmino has flourished since ex-Borussia Dortmund coach Klopp’s arrival in October and has frequently been leading Liverpool’s frontline as a false nine so far this season.

Sturridge’s ability in-front of goal can’t be questioned, yet his style of play often clashes with the quick forward movement Klopp prefers and Sky Sports pundit Carragher ultimately fears for his future at the club. I am happy with the squad.

“Of course to be champions the season before last and then have a bad season is hard, but I’m only concerned with Liverpool and what we have to do, and our job is to go there and get the points at Chelsea”. He is a great person.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he went against the advice of “everybody” to leave Roberto Firmino out against Chelsea on Friday night.

‘Can he make me the Neymar of Liverpool? Firmino asked. “It all depends on me”.

“I played defence right the way through until the Under-18s”. I don’t like to stop.

“All of us have our qualities that add to the team”.

“He wants each of us to be like a runner. You always have to be in motion”.

“When I knew of Liverpool’s interest, I watched a lot of videos to see what I could expected”, said Firmino, via a brilliant interview with Dom King of Daily Mail.

“It comes easy to me to run”. I had four-and-a-half years there and I learned you have to be on the automatic button. You have to go on full on from the first minute.

“When I thought about what I had to do in the transfer window, I always heard, ‘We have to sign this striker or this kind of striker'”.
