The new software iOS 10 is available to download via iTunes or over the air, and will ship with the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus from September 16.
The other major updates coming under iOS 10 include single tap-to-clear-all-notifications, quick access to settings, redesigned iMessages app and more.
Several social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter were flooded with messages and reports about the update making devices unusable. According to The Verge, the issue is a failed update process where the device asks to be plugged to a PC to restore the OS.
For those who haven’t tried updating to iOS 10 yet may do so now as Apple have already made the necessary fixes in the error. However, the telecom firm’s CEO John Legere has confirmed that Apple has released a fix to the connectivity problem, and has resolved the issue.
Apple advises anyone who was impacted by the glitch to connect to iTunes to complete the update or can contact AppleCare for additional support.
While your device is connected, force restart it. Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home button for at least 10 seconds, and don’t release when you see the Apple logo.
TOO LAZY TO TYPE and running iOS 10? Before you download, it’s also a good practice to make sure your device is backed up.
Rebecca Borison, a developer at software firm Blue Metal, said, when she tried to update her iPhone 6S on Tuesday, the new software froze her screen at first.

Thankfully, it’s not too tricky to go back to iOS 9 if you don’t like the latest version.
