Obama was born in the U.S., says Trump
Hillary Clinton surrogate Sid Blumenthal personally pitched a reporter on the President Obama “birther” story when she was campaigning for president in 2008, a former Washington reporter said Thursday. It’s fairly typical. We got other things to attend to.

But as Trump sought to put that false conspiracy theory to rest, he stoked another, claiming that the “birther movement” was started by rival Hillary Clinton. There is no evidence that that is true. Just yesterday, Trump again refused to say with his own words that the president was born in the United States.
Trump’s statement, in a sprawling ballroom at his new Washington hotel, lasted only a few seconds following a lengthy campaign event featuring military officers and award winners who have endorsed him.
Now those comments are coming back to haunt him. Shortly afterward, the stage collapsed on live TV.
However, those networks don’t typically show that kind of thing.
“You watch my statement; we have to keep the suspense going”, he said.
Trump had for years promoted the birther movement against Obama, who was born in Hawaii to an American mother and a Kenyan father.
While campaigning in South Florida, which has a large Cuban-American population, Trump also said that if he’s elected president, he will reverse Obama’s efforts to normalize relations with Cuba – unless the country abides by certain “demands”.
“He is feeding into the worst impulses – the bigotry and bias – that lurks in our country”, she also said. Earlier in the day, Obama said he knows where he was born.
But the press conference-during which Trump answered no questions-was a weird spectacle.
Hillary Clinton pounced on his statement Thursday during an appearance at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.
Donald Trump’s employees are not all eligible to receive eight-weeks paid parental leave, according to a new report, contrary to Ivanka Trump’s and the Trump Organization’s head of human resources’ claims. But, in the most incredible part of Miller’s argument, he then credited Trump for bringing “this ugly incident to its conclusion by successfully compelling President Obama to release his birth certificate”.
With polls showing Trump overtaking Clinton in some battleground states and deadlocked with her nationally, the Trump campaign is looking to move beyond the birther issue ahead of the first presidential debate at the end of the month.
Hillary Clinton said Donald Trump’s presidential campaign was founded on an “outrageous lie” that President Obama was not born in the United States and that “there is no erasing it in history”. Calling his actions “the lowest level of electioneering”, she accused Trump of having “debased the presidential contest”. Someday I’ll write a book.
Trump’s campaign initially stated that the press conference would focus on his past remarks about President Obama’s birthplace.

Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon responded to Friday’s acknowledgement by saying Trump “took no responsibility for his bigoted attacks on our president”. “He’s not sure. That’s not the same as “I’m certain the president was born either in Hawaii” or ‘I’m certain that he was not, ‘” said Stone. And, I will tell you, under the plan we’re doing they will be helped so much. And while the morning turned into a complete shitshow, we probably should have known that would happen when Trump telegraphed his entire birther reveal in an interview with Maria Baritromo, telling her “Well, I’m gonna make a big announcement on it today probably during my first speech at my new hotel”.
