Mauricio Pochettino confident Wembley will not snag Tottenham Hotspurs’ style

“Maybe it’s a little bit bigger than White Hart Lane but in the end it’s football, so we need to enjoy it and play better than Monaco”.

Mauricio Pochettino admits Tottenham Hotspur produced too many errors against AS Monaco on Wednesday night.

Spurs have agreed a deal to use Wembley as the venue for their home games this season, as redevelopment work on their stadium continues.

Spurs crashed to a 2-1 defeat to Monaco in their opening Group E game at Wembley, where they will be playing their Champions League home games this season while White Hart lane is being rebuilt.

“We started slowly and didn’t help ourselves at all”.

“We all agree that it was a game that we started well and created chances”, said Pochettino. We believe in the way we play and it’s a good chance to play on a big pitch. The fans showed great support tonight with the numbers coming out.

“When you play for Tottenham, it is hard to accept the way that we conceded the goal today”.

Spurs face Sunderland and Middlesbrough in the Premier League, as well as Gillingham in the EFL Cup, before travelling to CSKA Moscow for their next European match. “We needed to be much more aggressive in front of goal”. We need to look at ourselves & criticize ourselves because it was our mistakes.

“We conceded the second in the same circumstances as the first”.

“Most of the fans will be against us, we know that, and they will be for Spurs but this is only extra motivation”. I think Radamel (Falcao) had a super match.

Leonardo Jardim’s team have started the new season exceptionally well, eliminating Fenerbahce and Villarreal in order to qualify into the Champions League group stage draw, while winning three and losing none of their first four Ligue 1 games. We love that pressure and we know if we play 100 per cent with can come away with a positive result. We’ll try to enjoy it and try to win the game, because that’s the important thing.

Tottenham Hotspur hero Glenn Hoddle is anxious the team will suffer in their “home” Champions League fixtures because they are forced to play away from White Hart Lane.
