Bill Belichick still disgusted by last season’s loss to Dolphins

Miami is coming off of a tough loss to the Seattle Seahawks. They did march 86 yards for a late go-ahead score before Russell Wilson brought Seattle back. The defense played great, special teams.

The Patriots and Dolphins face off in Week 2. All three were listed as limited participants Wednesday as New England got back on the practice field. And they’re very strong in the kicking game. Miami’s run defense didn’t look great in Seattle, but it did show some signs of life against a bruising Seahawks rushing attack. Against the Baltimore Ravens, the Bills were able to gain a mere 160 total yards. If Miami can’t find a way to keep Ryan Tannehill on the move or out of pressure situations, it could get ugly. In the heart breaking loss Tannehill played very well spreading the ball to his receivers and scoring Miami’s only touchdown on a quarterback draw. He was also sacked five times. It was simply methodical. The team doesn’t practice Mondays and gets Tuesday completely off; Friday and Saturday are more like walkthroughs. That includes last year’s regular-season finale, a 20-10 win for the Dolphins that knocked the Patriots out of the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoff picture and forced them to go on the road to Denver for the conference championship game. Dolphins are only team in National Football League who open with two road games against 2015 playoff teams.

There was a time when Ajayi’s skill set was the prime topic when discussing what Gase wants and needs from his running backs. It shouldn’t be as hard for Miami as playing a loaded Seahawks defense, but it still won’t be easy.

And buried by Jimmy Garoppolo’s excellent first start was the performance of the New England offensive line, particularly left tackle Cameron Fleming. The other three are Green Bay, Cincinnati and Tampa Bay. We think we’re a good team. The Patriots are well aware of the fact that the Dolphins are more than capable of pulling the upset, as Miami has shocked New England on many occasions in the past.

The New England Patriots were the talk of the football world after stunning the Arizona Cardinals 23-21 on Sunday Night Football.

This will certainly be a good test for Miami’s resilience. But last week, for a change, discounting his impact was actually the easiest way to win.

PATRIOTS FS Devin McCourty had team-leading 9 tackles in Week 1 win.

The one thing Miami can use to its advantage is the relative anonymity of its schemes. Though the Dolphins’ defense stifled the Seahawks for the bulk of the afternoon, they couldn’t finish the job.

New PATRIOTS WR Chris Hogan (3-60) had 37-yard TD catch in Week 1. Second-year linebacker Kwon Alexander racked up 17 tackles and a sack. Defensively, New England didn’t create turnovers and will look to rebound this week.
