Cosmo rips the halo off of Ivanka Trump
Ms. Gupta repeatedly pressed Mrs. Trump on why the Republican presidential nominee’s policy did not include paternity leave for fathers or gay men who choose to adopt.

Asked specifically “what about gay couples where both partners are men?”, she demurred: “The policy is fleshed out online, so you can go see all the elements of it. Can you talk a little about those comments, and perhaps what has changed?”
“I think that you have a lot of negativity in these questions, and I think my father has put forth a very comprehensive and really revolutionary plan to deal with a lot of issues”, she said.
“It’s disappointing that such a respected women’s publication would be so dismissive of these proposed policies which clearly advance the cause of helping women and families of all backgrounds, simply due to their feelings about the Republican nominee”, the source said, adding that the interview was scheduled as a brief conversation, and that Trump answered all the questions, and didn’t duck out early.
I would like to say that I’m sorry the questions – you’re finding them negative, but it is relevant that a presidential candidate made those comments, so I’m just following up. “So I should not say Ivanka, you’re fired, right?” In 2004, Donald Trump said that pregnancy is an inconvenient thing for a business. “I hope that, regardless of what your political viewpoint is, this should be celebrated”. Reporter Prachi Gupta asked a few reasonable questions, only to have Ivanka come unglued, snap a few times about the unfairness of Gupta’s line of questioning and abruptly end the interview.
GUPTA: So I just want to be clear that, for same-sex adoption, where the two parents are both men, they would not be receiving special leave for that because they don’t need to recover or anything?
Read a profile of Ivanka Trump, and soak in the praise about her “caution and composure”, her “poise”, her status as a “modern-day superwoman”, her “disciplined poise and practiced reserve”. Those are your words.
Under Trump’s child care plan, mothers would be provided up to six weeks of paid maternity leave if they do not already receive it from their employer.
Gupta continued to get under Ivanka’s skin when asking about how Donald will pay for some of his proposals like the wall with Mexico or the increase in defense spending. Shortly afterward, she shut things down.
After answering one more question about the funding of the child care plan, Ivanka was SO over the interview, shutting it down saying, “I’m going to jump off, I have to run. I apologize”, she said.
The 34-year-old, who played a major role in shaping the new proposal, has been lending a hand in her father’s outreach efforts to secure female voters (as of August, 65% of women reported feeling negatively about the candidate). As the Huffington Post reported afterward, many Trump Organization employees receive only the federally mandated unpaid leave.

If you do manage to find Cosmo’s politics section (buried under the conflicting editorial priorities of “women’s empowerment” and “sex tips created to please your man”), you’ll find a host of vapid articles defending Hillary Clinton, including a swoony essay on the Clintons’ marriage.
