South African retired archbishop and anti-apartheid icon Desmond Tutu was on Saturday readmitted to hospital in Cape Town just days after being discharged following surgery, his family said.
Tutu’s family said Saturday that the 84-year-old retired archbishop was readmitted to the hospital as a precaution after a surgical wound showed “signs of infection”.
Mr Tutu, who has been treated for prostate cancer for many years, was hospitalised several times last year.
The post Desmond Tutu re-admitted in hospital appeared first on Punch Newspapers.
The much-loved former archbishop of Cape Town gained worldwide prominence for his strong opposition to white-minority rule in South Africa.

Report said that Tutu was widely regarded as “South Africa’s moral conscience” and was described by the late President Nelson Mandela as “the voice of the voiceless”.
