According to The Asian Age, the Google Pixel smartphone will sport a 5-inch display while the Google Pixel XL will have an additional.5-inch display.
Based on the tweet, it appears that Google has switched manufacturers for its third-generation Nexus 7 tablet.
It remains to be seen if Google is simply postponing the release date for Google Nexus 2016 or is the search engine giant really ditching it from its plans? The 5-inch smartphone will be called Pixel, while the phablet will be dubbed Pixel XL. Other speculations claim that HTC will craft the Pixel or the Pixel XL, but it is yet unclear which model will be manufactured by HTC and which from Huawei. There’s no word on whether or not the two smartphones will be available in both aforesaid variants. Insiders familiar with the matter note that the Pixel XL could have a 2K screen, while the smaller Pixel will make use of a standard 1080p screen. It is said to be powered by either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor or the NVIDIA Tegra X1 chip, with 4 GB of random access memory (RAM) and microSD support up to a whopping 2 TB.
Those who are anxious that Google will take a leaf out of Apple’s book on the headphone jack can rest assured.
According to Android Police, most fans are anxious that the Nexus 6 is not one of the devices capable of running Android Nougat since the device is not on the list of Nexus iterations that will get the new platform.
The Pixels, despite the Google branding, will be made by HTC.
