On Tuesday, a female victim called 911 inside the home at 323 Covert Court to report that she was abducted. Ashland Police Department and Ohio BCI execute a search warrant on a home on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, in Ashland, Ohio.
Family members say they believe their search efforts led Shawn Grate to doze off after a sleepless night, allowing the woman to call 911.

Apart from the two bodies that were found, Grate also confessed to murdering a third woman in Richland County, where another body was found.
The uncle of one of three women found dead in OH says he believes his niece died for a reason. Ashland police took Grate into custody on Tuesday and after questioning him discovered the two women’s bodies on the property.
The Ashland County prosecutor’s office identified those bodies as Stacey Stanley, 43, and Elizabeth Griffith, 29.
One of the victims whose body was found in the home was Stacey Hicks Stanley, 43, of Huron County, Ohio, according to court documents.
It is unclear if Grate will receive further charges related to a third body found in Richland County.
The unidentified woman was killed between August 16 and September 13, according to court documents. Authorities haven’t said how any of the women died. She said the man was armed with a Taser. “She’d give anybody anything, you know”, he said.
During the hearing, which was broadcast via a Skype video conference, Grate was charged with three felonies – one count of kidnapping and two counts of murder.

The kidnapping charge alleges Grate held another female victim against her will for the objective of engaging in sexual activity with her, between the dates of September 11th and 13th. He has another hearing scheduled for Monday morning and has been held on a bond of $1 million.
