Members of the media were not allowed to watch the interview, set to air on Thursday, forcing them to rely on a press release and members of the studio audience for information.
He first revealed the letter, which is dated 13 Sept, in his appearance on The Dr Oz Show.
The statement was part of medical information Clinton’s campaign released Wednesday after her pneumonia diagnosis last week.
Hillary Clinton returned to the campaign trail on Friday, smiling and chatting with reporters as her plane flew to North Carolina.
The newspaper said the Levin family believed Bornstein was “negligent and grossly reckless” for prescribing drugs outside of any condition 52-year-old Janet Levin was being treated for.
Earlier this year, Bornstein drew attention for writing that Trump would be the healthiest president in history.
“I just talked to her – she’s feeling great and I think she’ll be back out there tomorrow”, former President Bill Clinton said Wednesday, when he stepped in for his wife at a previous scheduled campaign event in Las Vegas. Trump said he usually plays golf but can’t manage that during the campaign. It appears to be the same document Trump presented to Dr. Mehmet Oz on Wednesday during a taping of the show “Dr. Oz”. The Republican presidential nominee reportedly said that eating fast food is inevitable with the amount he travels.
A preliminary report from Clinton’s doctor this week revealed bacterial pneumonia, steroid treatments and a history of sinus infections.
Trump’s appearance on the television show will provide an updated view on the Republican presidential nominee’s health since the businessman’s personal doctor stated in December that he would be “the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency”.
Trump, too, has said he plans to release the details of a recent physical this week.
The release comes amid growing attention to the candidates’ health histories and after Clinton was captured on video stumbling.
His Prostate-Specific Antigen levels (PSA) were 0.15 – also a healthy reading – while his blood pressure was 116/70, again within a healthy range.
Trump said that he remains opposed to abortion rights. His daughter, Ivanka Trump, also was on the program and defended her father against accusations of sexism, calling it a “false narrative”.
