Buffalo Bills ‘excited’ about offensive coordinator Greg Roman’s dismissal

The Buffalo Bills made a surprise move less than 24 hours after a 37-31 loss to the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football, as the team announced offensive coordinator Greg Roman was sacked by the team.

Roman was the highest paid OC in the National Football League, and will be replaced by running backs coach/assistant head coach Anthony Lynn starting immediately. Buffalo put up 31 points on a great Jets defense, so why are the Bills canning Roman this soon?

Anthony Lynn, a well-respected assistant coach, was announced as Roman’s replacement.

Roman took over as Bills offensive coordinator in January 2015 after serving the same role the previous four years with the San Francisco 49ers. “And I’m also accountable for these decisions”.

I think the Bills need to shut down Sammy Watkins for, if not a few weeks, the whole season, that surgically repaired foot is clearly not right.

“I appreciate Greg Roman and the job he did for us”.

“This is my move, without question”, Ryan said, adding that he met Friday morning with owners Terry and Kim Pegula. “I think he’s a rare talent and we have to do things that I think will showcase those abilities a little bit”. Then on third down, with less than one one minute played in the half, Tyrod Taylor threw another bomb this time 71-yards to Greg Salas (former NY Jet) for the touchdown.

“I thought it was over”, Marshall said after the game. Thus far, after two games, in 2016 the Bills are ranked 23 in points, 29 in yards, 30 in 1 downs, 24 in passing, and 23 in rushing.

Roman’s dismissal is the latest in a series of shuffles Ryan has made to his staff.

Henderson, who left New Era Field in a walking boot, said he was injured on the second play of the game.

“I think, obviously, it’s going to be very challenging”, Ryan said.

And just like that, the two began re-establishing themselves as one of the NFL’s most potent tandems a year after combining for 189 catches, 2,529 yards and 26 touchdowns. After the mini bye, the Bills host a prolific Cardinals offense, before traveling to Foxborough.

Guard Richie Incognito said he felt “terrible” for Roman, but believes the offense will rally under Lynn.

“The one thing we learned from the first game that we didn’t do is we didn’t fight and overcome some things at the end”, he said.
