The document noted that Clinton would frequently switch devices and sometimes ” [Huma} Abedin and Hanley indicated the whereabouts of Clinton’s new devices would frequently become unknown once she transitioned to a new device”.

In fact, Ms. Clinton’s emails have endured much more scrutiny than an ordinary person’s would have, and the criminal case against her was so thin that charging her would have been to treat her very differently.

In a radio interview on Tuesday, Republican Speaker of the House Paul Ryan fed the emerging narrative that the FBI was somehow trying to shield Clinton by releasing the documents related to the email investigation on the Friday before a holiday weekend. “I watched with great admiration as she dealt with a tough and personally painful issue in a fair, candid, and determined manner”, Shannon wrote in the email sent January 23, 2013, to Cheryl Mills, a top Clinton aide.

Chaffetz said a series of events in the days leading up to the deletions, including a conference call with Clinton’s lawyers and the creation of a work ticket, “raises questions about whether Secretary Clinton, acting through her attorneys, instructed PRN to destroy records relevant to the then-ongoing congressional investigations”.

In the wake of fierce criticism over the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s private email server and release of related documents, FBI Director James Comey issued an internal memo Wednesday to employees regarding the agency’s “commitment to transparency” while also taking time to hit back at critics. Anyone who claims that Ms. Clinton should be in prison accuses, without evidence, the Federal Bureau of Investigation of corruption or flagrant incompetence.

Abedin, (redacted) and Hanley also assisted Clinton with setting up any new devices. Three weeks later, the story goes, the engineer responsible for deleting Clinton’s archive suddenly remembered the failed duty, and acted on it by deleting the e-mails with a program (wonderfully named BleachBit) that apparently rendered majority unreadable.

“One of the revelations of this latest email dump is that Secretary Clinton didn’t use just one smart phone in office as secretary of state as she originally claimed”.

When presented with the email, she said she believed she was asking Sullivan to remove the State Department letterhead and to provide unclassified talking points.

Abedin is a long-time Clinton aide, including having been her deputy chief of staff when Clinton was Secretary of State.

Clinton was asked about the tightening poll numbers, whether she thought she was being treated differently because she was a woman, her debate strategy and Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson’s Aleppo gaffe. However, the company managing her server did not delete any of those older emails.

In a statement about the newly disclosed email, State Department spokesman Mark Toner said, “The email does not change the facts that have previously been made clear about the Benghazi attacks”.
