Cowboys Tony Romo to undergo more tests before final roster decision
The bad luck was to the two quarterbacks ahead of him on the Cowboys’ roster. So when the Dallas needs to decide whether Romo should remain to the roster or place him on the injured reserve, the Cowboys didn’t think twice and unhesitatingly opted to have him remain in the 53-man final roster. Last season, New York’s defense was simply wretched when it allowed 299 passing yards per game to opposing quarterbacks. I felt like it was the flawless situation for both the player and the team.

As for now, the Dallas are in the hands of rookie Dak Prescott, the 2016 NFL Draft pick with 135th overall selection by the Cowboys out of Mississippi State, with newly acquired veteran QB Mark Sanchez as his backup.
The New York Giants had a 6-10 win-loss record last season partially due to their defense, which gave up the most yards in the league. But while Prescott has shown big-time flashes of brilliance, the Cowboys tend to struggle without Romo in the lineup. He will be alongside Dez Bryant, Jason Witten, a star-studded offensive line, and a multitude of quarterback friendly weapons such as Terrence Williams, Cole Beasley, and Brice Butler.
Rookie Dak Prescott is set to start the opener September 11 against the New York Giants, but the key to the quarterback puzzle remains Romo, who broke a bone in his back in a preseason game against Seattle. “We really feel good about our team”. Lawrence will also be sidelined the first four games. All missed time in training camp with injuries but should be able to contribute early in the season. Rashad Jennings emerges as the leader of the Giants running back core while Big Blue is hoping that they can finally get an injury-free season for former pro-bowl wide receiver Victor Cruz, who would be the flawless 1-2 combo alongside Odell Beckham Jr. Byron Jones will be making the jump to free safety and provide stability there, and Scandrick, Morris Claiborne, Brandon Carr, and rookie Anthony Brown look to all be bright spots heading into the first game. Scandrick returns after missing last season with a knee injury.
The NFL has not yet provided the second-year pass rusher with official notice that his appeal succeeded, a source told ESPN’s Ed Werder.

Two weeks ago he was in contention to be the Broncos’ starter but they chose to go with Trevor Siemian as their top quarterback with rookie Paxton Lynch as the backup. And now he’s without Romo again. “You can’t flinch in these situations”, he said.
