Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth out to shock Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium
Guardiola also hinted that striker Sergio Aguero, who has netted nine goals in five games in all competitions this season, is close to signing a new deal.

“They must forget what happened in the past”, Guardiola said.
As quoted by The Guardian, he replied when asked about Aguero’s contract situation; “I think he’s going to extend the contract but it’s not official. I don’t know if it’s going to be this year, but we will try”.
Guardiola said: “I don’t know, I’ve been thinking about it since two days ago”. “But after that you start to think again about the next [game], you start to worry about the strikers of Bournemouth and how they play”.
“I have been really pleased”, he said.
Previous reports had surfaced suggesting that Aguero could be interested in returning to his native Argentina after the 2018 World Cup, with first club Independiente.
“I still have three years more here”, he said.
City’s 4-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach went along way to proving their lethal attacking threat but Guardiola guarded against his side being complacent. Sergio Aguero is one of them and he scored a hat-trick to help sink the German visitors.
“He just has a talent to score goals that is natural, I can not teach him that”. This is why this is a fun game to watch.
Pep Guardiola has again reiterated that Manchester City can still improve all over the field despite their flawless start to the campaign.
Eddie has always maintained that he won’t change our style of play for anyone, well, I think he may need to have a rethink for this one, as a “damage limitation” measure.
Guardiola has made an immediate impact on his new club and has done so with new signings like Gundogan, Leroy Sane and Claudio Bravo having only just become available for the first team. Last week, he paired Iheanacho with Nolito up front, with Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne providing service along with incisive runs to help pull apart a United defense that had conceded only one goal heading into their derby.
The famously exacting coach has already increased standards at Manchester City, ruthlessly culling some of the squad’s bigger egos as he places a paramount on work ethic and ball retention.

City’s “antipathy towards Uefa stems from sanctions taken against the club when they breached financial fair play rules. but Guardiola effectively told his supporters to get over it”, he adds.
