Tonight’s Georgia Bulldogs vs Missouri Tigers college football game has a start time schedule of 7:30pm eastern time and airs on TV channel SEC Network.
The Missouri Tigers (1-1) are coming from a 61-21 win over the Eastern Michigan Eagles in week 2. Drew Lock threw three touchdown passes, including a 6-yarder to J’Mon Moore early in the third quarter that appeared to be the game victor for Missouri until Eason’s dramatic TD pass. Safety Cam Hilton broke up a pass on third down before Georgia called timeout and Eason dialed up the winning pass to McKenzie, his favorite target. He has tallied 219 yards on 18 completions, and found the end zone twice, once to McKenzie and fullback Christian Payne. Missouri was gunning for its first victory against a Top 25 opponent since defeating then 25th-ranked Minnesota 33-17 on January 1, 2015 in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl. Georgia came away with two missed field goals and nary a point on its first seven possessions of the second half before scoring the decisive touchdown. But the Bulldogs countered with a five-play, 74-yard drive to take the 21-20 halftime lead.
McKenzie caught 10 passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns, including the go-ahead score.
Georgia: Chubb had 38 carries for 143 yards and touchdown against Missouri in 2014, but was somewhat ineffective Saturday with 19 carries for 63 yards. By comparison, Missouri’s first drive against Georgia last season started at the Bulldog 1-yard line after an Ian Simon interception, but the Tigers had to settle for a field goal. Moore finished with eight receptions for a career-high 196 yards, including a slant in double coverage that he took 79 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. Missouri’s 40 first-half plays produced 343 yards, and Georgia ran 47 opening-half plays for 250 yards. The Bulldogs converted 5 of 6 third downs in the first quarter, with every conversion coming on an Eason completion.
