Michigan State Spartans vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish Preview and Prediction

Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio and his defensive coordinator, Pat Narduzzi, kept pushing the envelope, and the more Trae Waynes and Darqueze Dennard pressured Notre Dame’s receivers, the more the Irish moved the football down the field.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are playing host to the Michigan State Spartans in a battle of ranked teams in college football Saturday night. Sparty looked sluggish in its opener against Furman before taking an early, Week 2 bye. Neither team played in a bowl game, which added to the magnitude of the Game of the Century. “They might be sitting in Notre Dame seats, but I’m sure they will be rooting for me and Byron”. Come at me, band geeks.

However, he said the Fighting Irish offense has made progress since the match up against Texas, but progress still has to be made by defense.

However, Michigan State shut the Irish down on their final drive and got the ball back to win it 36-28.

Reschke (hand) did not dress in MSU’s opener against Furman, a 28-13 victory on September 2. Quarterback Tyler O’Connor has been OKwithout being brilliant so far in 2016, and that’s usually enough at MSU, with the running game that they boast.

Preview: No. 14 Oklahoma’s recovery from its season-opening loss to No. 13 Houston began with a 42-point dismantling of Louisiana-Monroe last Saturday. MSU still has talent across the defensive front, but a lot was lost from last year’s deep group. Michigan State is well coached and physical, so the Irish will have to out-execute the Spartans in order to come out with the victory. But, I have a job to do.

“I’ve been reminded by one of our coaches we’ve had one game in six weeks since coming here on August 5”, Dantonio said. The last time MSU went to South Bend, the Fighting Irish used an all-pass-interference offense and took advantage of multiple frightful calls to win in 2013. In fact, the entire Spartan defence needs to play out of their skins to get a win.

The Fighting Irish allowed 50 points and more than 500 total yards in that game but were much more solid in the win over Nevada.

“I don’t think there is anybody in our program that wanted to sit last weekend”, he said. Actually, you know what? “So there’s still growth that’s going to happen with this football team as we evolve”.

“I remember Amp Campbell was a safety who had a very serious neck injury and that was his return”. I can’t pick against my Spartans.

After a Jake Hartbarger punt bounced off the leg of a Notre Dame player, Michigan State fell on the ball.

Michigan State is doing to this game what @HillaryClinton is doing to the election.

“I was watching the (Alabama) game”, O’Brien said, “and hoping we’d still have the record for their worst loss”. DeShone Kizer is electric, but he has limited weapons at wideout. The ACC-mandated games against the likes of Syracuse, Duke, and at NC State should offer little cause for concern for ND fans, but also offers little chance to impress the pollsters to get back in their good graces.
