Victor Oladipo: ‘No question’ some National Basketball Association players will protest during anthem
South Park later attempted to show how some try to change Kaepernick’s message, as a stadium announcer tells a football crowd that standing, kneeling, or sitting during the national anthem is an acceptable way to honor America – a plan devised by “wizard” J.J. Abrams.

Colin Kaepernick’s decision to sit through the national anthem and the people who later chose to denounce him for the action share something in common: they both exercised their freedom of speech. After the game, which the 49ers ended up losing, Kaepernick was questioned about his protest of the flag.
Nancy Harms, a farmer in Iowa, told Reuters she strongly believed Kaepernick should stand for the anthem as someone “born and raised in this country”.
The thing is, people like them get indignant when anger over racial oppression expresses itself in street violence.
There have been mixed reactions to the protest. He said the protest was disrespectful toward the armed forces. African Americans have a right to critique Kaepernick’s method of protest, I don’t.
Student athletes at SBU have had some reactions to the recent flag protest, too. Unlike the United States, Ireland doesn’t have a large minority population and even fewer of their sports teams, so a social stance like Kaepernick is not something sports fans there have to worry about.
I don’t doubt his sincerity and think he cares about some real, legitimate issues that have to be talked about.
Players and coaches from Garfield High School knelt in unison before their game against West Seattle High School, and some West Seattle players also knelt, according to local news reports and social media.
“[The NFL players] are exercising their right to not stand during the anthem”, said Beshaw, a junior sports studies major. “But I think definitely, we’ll see a few guys in the National Basketball Association doing the same thing”, Oladipo told Complex’s Russ Bengston during an offseason Q&A published Wednesday.
I’ll most likely stand.
Running back Arian Foster, alongside other Dolphin players, took a knee during the anthem. “September 11 is not [the National Football League players’] day”.
Spady said he would support any of his players if they decide to take part.
