Guardiola the Special One, not Jose – Keane

But there was only one victor during last week’s match at Old Trafford – and that was Guardiola.

Next up for Pep Guardiola’s side is a home game against Bournemouth this Saturday, followed by a trip to Swansea the following week. United bounced back with a goal before the first half, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic scoring from a volley, down to a mistake by goalkeeper Claudio Bravo but it was too little too late for the hosts.

The former Ireland worldwide lauded the City boss for doing a fantastic job with his new employers and also labelled him as the “Special One” – a title which Jose Mourinho vested upon himself.

“He said he’s a challenging coach – doesn’t look like he messes about”, he said.

“I wouldn’t like to mess with him”.

“The Premier League? I could never cheer a team coached by Pep Guardiola, so I can’t sit here and tell you that Manchester City will win”, Raiola told Italian station Radio CRC. “Mourinho reckons he’s the special one.to me, this guy is”.

‘I think it’s in Man City’s DNA over a number of years that they take their foot off the gas and relax a bit.

Despite the opening match of City’s Champions League campaign being delayed by 24 hours due to a fierce thunder storm that left the Etihad Stadium pitch waterlogged on Tuesday, Guardiola’s side made an emphatic start to join Barcelona at the top of Group C with three points each.

Mourinho probably won’t enjoy Keane’s comments, either.

Guardiola may have taken an early lead in his battle against Mourinho but there’s a long way to go in this season as they aim to become the “Special One” in Manchester.
