Bills Fire OC Greg Roman, Promote Anthony Lynn To OC

The Jets’ secondary gave up another big play after Revis was torched – a 71-yard touchdown to Greg Salas on a blown coverage. But, at some point through his first seven seasons as a head coach, and two games into his eighth, the message has gone stale.

Shady is just not living up to expectations in Buffalo, I think it’s time for the Bills to look for another HB either through free agency or the draft.

Roman does have a reputation for being reliant on the ground game.

Marshall said he was initially upset to suffer the injury on an illegal play.

Buffalo Bills firing OC Greg Roman, per league sources.

The Bills struggled on offense in their season opener Sunday, gaining just 160 yards in a 10-7 loss to Baltimore.

“He commands respect. He’s got the respect of the entire locker room”, Ryan said. “I thought we played well defensively the first game”.

“I was afraid to pressure because we weren’t holding up in man-coverage”. For his first year with the team these numbers certainly were not bad and the team showed real promise going into season number two with Roman so it is a little puzzling that the Bills would decide to let him go this early. Buffalo has combined for just 151 yards rushing in two games. Ryan said he wasn’t concerned about the offense.

“It’s not alarming yet – we’ll have to see how the tests come back and go from there – but anytime someone doesn’t return to the game, you have to be concerned”, he said. Although Tyrod Taylor had 297 yards and 3 TDs last night his night was not fantastic. Rex had Buffalo set up a jumbo formation, broadcasting to everyone – including the Jets – that they were going to run the ball.

The Bills got within a touchdown on Mike Gillislee’s 18-yard scoring pass from Taylor with 77 seconds remaining. NY was 8 for 13 on third down conversions and doubled Buffalo in time of possession. The Jets had a almost 2-to-1 advantage in time of possession, and the Bills could only manage three third-down conversions. The next play, though, was a deep strike down the right sideline for an 84-yard touchdown to Marquise Goodwin. The only positive takeaway was the turnover forced by stripping Jalin Marshall and Nickell Robey-Coleman was able to pick it up and run it in for six, but still this defense has a long way to go otherwise there will be a lot of jobs lost in Buffalo after this season.

Ideally, touchdowns are more important than field goals.

For the second consecutive week now, the Jets scored on their first possession of the game.

Meanwhile, Buffalo’s defense allowed 493 total yards against the Jets’ offense, including 374 passing yards from Ryan Fitzpatrick, leading Ryan to say after the game he “never expected” the offensive success of the Jets.
