Singh said Navjot Sidhu never expressed any interest in contesting the election and merely wanted the post of Chief Minister for himself. Let me complete it. “I was offered that my wife will be made a minister”, Sidhu told media here.

Kejriwal, on a four-day visit to Punjab, also said that his party, if elected to power, will declare both Amritsar and Anandpur Sahib as “holy cities”.

He further said, “Kejriwalji tweeted about the meeting with me, but he said half truth. Our people took him away from the protestors and helped him board the train”, said a senior Delhi Police officer.

Sidhu had resigned from the Rajya Sabha on July 18, fuelling speculation that he may join the AAP. People are playing the politics of fear, they have strangled democracy.

During the brief hearing, Additional Solicitor General Sanjay Jain told the bench that the Election Commission was also seized of the matter pertaining to the appointment of 21 legislators as parliamentary secretaries.

Meanwhile the political temperature soar further.

“We have united to help Punjab win”.

“Kejriwal asked he will only allow my wife to contest election”.

Kejriwal is on a four-day tour of Punjab to give a push to Aam Aadmi Party’s poll campaign.

In a fresh jolt to the Kejriwal government, Delhi High Court set aside its order appointing 21 AAP MLAs as parliamentary secretaries on the ground that it was issued without the concurrence of the Lieutenant Governor.

Kejriwal would release the farmers’ Manifesto of AAP on September 11 at Bagha Purana in Moga district. He said that whenever he comes to Punjab always preferred to pay obeisance in Golden Temple first then initiate any other job. He accused the SAD and Congress of playing a friendly match.

Singh said AAP is determined to fight against the alleged corrupt regime of the Badals, “but in the today’s press conference, Sidhu has given signals that his fourth front would contest against AAP”.

Pargat Singh was last month suspended from the Akali Dal for “anti-party” activities.
