Two Palestinians killed in East Jerusalem and the West Bank

Israeli soldiers forced, Friday, a Palestinian man to demolish his own home, in Jabal al-Mokabber town, south of occupied East Jerusalem, after the City Council ruled for the demolition of the property, under the pretext of being built without a permit.

According to the Israeli military, two Palestinians – a man and a woman – were shot and injured by Israeli troops after attempting to ram their vehicle into the entrance of the Jewish-only Kiryat Araba settlement in the southern West Bank.

Hours later, a Palestinian who stabbed and wounded a soldier at a junction near Hebron was shot dead, officials said.

An army spokeswoman said they had been rioting.

Police said the assailant “was running towards police officers with a knife in his hand and was shot and killed” near the heavily patrolled Damascus Gate. Upon searching Amro’s body, police found three knives on his person. In this fresh outbreak of Palestinian terror after a fairly calm few weeks, three Israelis were hurt and three Palestinians killed.

Today, the 17th of september, a young Palestinian man on the age of 22 was shot dead by Israeli forces in Tel Rumeida.

Jordan on Saturday condemned the killing of one of its nationals by an Israeli policewoman he attacked in east Jerusalem, calling it a “barbaric act”.

Ashrawi said:”Israel is flagrantly employing a systematic and willful policy of summary executions against the Palestinian people; such provocative acts are in direct violation of global law and conventions”.

Earlier this week, President Obama and U.N. Secretary General Ban ki-Moon expressed concern about soaring tensions in Israel and the West Bank amid a long-stalled peace process.

In the latest wave of increased violence in the occupied Palestinian territories since October 2015, it is estimated that Israeli troops and settlers are responsible for the killing of at least 225 Palestinians, including unarmed demonstrators, bystanders and alleged attackers.

Many Palestinians hold Jordanian passports, and Israeli police said on Friday they were checking if Amro also had Palestinian papers.

The Palestinian assaults, mainly stabbings, have killed 34 Israelis and two Americans.

Palestinian leaders charge that the violence is a result of collapsed peace talks, Israel’s ongoing military occupation of the West Bank and its expansion of settlements on land Palestinians claim as part of their future state.
