Chun takes 2-shot lead after 2 rounds of Evian Championship

Ko has struggled with her game all week and needed to produce something special Saturday to get back into the tournament but went the other way.

The tourney is being held in Evian-Les-Bains, France. Park seemed unfazed after the round about the deficit and said that her last two wins on the KLPGA were come-from-behind victories with the last one at the Hanwa Finance Classic earlier this month coming from four shots behind. She used 28 putts in her round of 63 and did not miss a single green. “I just want to keep enjoying what I am doing”.

“Having cameras around all day felt new again”, said Stanford, who has five career wins on the LPGA Tour.

Tour: Michael Thomson shot a 7-under 64 for a share of the third-round lead with Scott Stallings in the Web.com Tour Finals’ Albertson Boise Open.

Feng, the 2012 LPGA Championship victor, had a 67 and said that the Rio Olympics had boosted her confidence, as she chases a second Major and a 17th professional title.

Ko revealed herself to the golfing world at the Evian in 2013, when she finished second as a 16-year-old amateur.

Chun, the 2015 U.S. Women’s Open champion, had six birdies and an eagle in a round blemished only by a double bogey on the ninth hole. After that there were no problems, though, as she made four further gains to finish the round at 13-under. Ariya was in danger of missing the cut after a first round 73, but she returned to form on Friday, coming in with a bogey-free 67. But Ko improved on her way back to the clubhouse with a bogey and four birdies – including a brilliant chip in from the edge of the green on the fifth for one of the shots of the day.

World number one Lydia Ko could manage only a 70 for one-under, seven off the lead.

Stallings, a three-time victor on the PGA Tour, had a 66 to match Thompson at 16-under 197 at Hillcrest in the second of four events that will determine 25 PGA Tour cards for next season.

Ladies European Tour Order of Merit leader Beth Allen got off to a awful start with a quadruple-bogey eight at the first and eventually finished six over, while nearest rival in the rankings Catriona Matthew shot a 73 to leave the Scot two over.

Starting in muggy afternoon conditions, Ko played in a group with South Korean Hyo Joo Kim, the 2014 champion, and Norway’s Suzann Pettersen, the 2013 victor.
