There have been ceasefire violations by Pakistan in Poonch, Sujiyan, Balakote, Hamirpur and Mandi sectors alongside the Line of Control in Poonch district for the eighth consecutive day.
Intermittent firing had also taken place in Rajouri’s Manjakot, in which three persons had been injured.
He said authorities had set up camps away from the border for people fleeing the shelling, but so far they had not come for fear of being caught in the cross-fire.

The continuing border firing comes ahead of the August 23-24 National Security Advisor-level talks to be held in Delhi between India’s Ajit Doval and Pakistan’s Sartaj Aziz to discuss terrorism issues.
