Liverpool inflict first defeat on Chelsea

Liverpool’s English midfielder Jordan Henderson (2R) celebrates with Liverpool’s Croatian defender Dejan Lovren (R) after scoring his team’s second goal during the English Premier League football match between Chelsea and Liverpool at Stamford Bridge in London on September 16, 2016.

“When you finish in 10th, it is not natural, it is not simple”. “In the second half we started with the same players and you saw another game, with great intensity”, the Italian insisted. “The biggest was Divock Origi, so it could have even been 3-1 to us, but 2-1 I am completely fine with”.

“We have to learn how to manage the game plan”.

“This afternoon there were really hard decisions to make with Roberto [Firmino] – a very good player and it was only a little issue, but I had to make the decision, in the end, to say it was not possible [for him to play]”, Klopp confirmed after the win over Chelsea.

But after a 2-2 draw with Swansea was backed up by an insipid display at home in a 2-1 loss to Liverpool, the Italian manager’s warning was clear and bleak: change, or previous year won’t be an aberration. It’s not natural. It’s not simple.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was a man on a mission last night.

“I am really not interested in what people think”.

“But when you give away two goals in this way, i think it’s very hard”.

“The beginning was brilliant from my side and we played football that was really nice to watch”. We played football like hell.

At the end of the night it was Klopp who triumphed with two excellent strikes in the first half proving too much for Chelsea to come back from despite an improved second half showing from the Blues.

Edison Cavani smashed four goals as Paris Saint-Germain demolished Caen 6-0 in their Ligue 1 clash on Friday.

It was the first defeat in his new team for the Italian, and the first home defeat in three and a half years as a club manager. Lucas Moura and Augustin scored the remaining goals of the match. Pogba is yet to make a mark with his United jersey and will look to break the shackles against Watford on Sunday. Despite Chelsea’s struggles, it took Conte more than 80 minutes to make his first substitution and he made three all at once – a delightful rarity – but entirely to his second wave of attackers.
