Carter had a successful day against the Ducks despite the drop and injury in the fourth quarter as the senior led the Cornhuskers in both receptions as well as receiving yardage.

The Ducks ran 26 times for 166 yards in the first half, thriving despite the absence of running back Royce Freeman and left tackle Tyrell Crosby for all but the opening minutes of the game.
Browning finished 12 of 19 for 163 yards.
NEBRASKA: The Huskers made a good start to getting back on the national radar, turning up their running game in the second half and getting a poised performance from Armstrong.
Armstrong and Ozigbo played huge roles in the Huskers outscoring the Ducks 21-12 in the second half, including 7-6 in the fourth quarter.
No. 25 Miami 45, Appalachian St. 10 – At Boone, N.C., Brad Kaaya threw for 368 yards and three scores, Mark Walton ran for 130 yards and two touchdowns and No. 25 Miami rolled to a win over Appalachian State in front of a record crowd of 34,658 at Kidd Brewer Stadium. Decoud scored on a 75-yard interception return midway through the third quarter for the Beavers. The Huskers led 28-26 at the time, but OR scored on the ensuing drive to take a 32-28 edge with 10:25 left.
So it was little surprise what Riley said or did after Nebraska beat No. 22 ranked or 35-32 on Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
OR came out of the game firing and took an early 8-0 lead.
Two plays later, Armstrong sprinted into the end zone to put the Huskers ahead for good.
An Oregon offensive lineman recovered the fumble to give the Ducks one last play before a long flight home.
OR took an early lead on a 20-yard touchdown run by Tony Brooks-James with 8:19 left in the first quarter to cap a 10-play, 65-yard drive. Upon scoring the touchdown, OR once again chose to go for two. Tommy Armstrong Jr. threw a touchdown pass to Bryan Reimers on the Huskers’ first drive of the second half.
Quarterback Dakota Prukop threw for 146 yards and ran for 94 for the Ducks.
That drive was capped off by a 34-yard touchdown run by the gutsy Armstrong, who had been dealing with cramps throughout the ballgame. OR then was stopped on downs with 39 seconds left on its final possession. Enter Nebraska punt returner De’Mornay Pierson-El.
Jordan Westerkamp, who had already caught two touchdowns on the afternoon, saw man coverage, and knew the play was coming his way. Although the Huskers came out on top, the outcome was in doubt for a chunk of the game. OR was penalized 13 times for 126 yards, while Nebraska was flagged seven times for 55 yards.
Nebraska’s momentum carried from the end of the first half into the start of the second half.
Prukop had a 22-yard run, a 46-yard run and Darren Carrington made a clutch 14-yard catch over the middle on a third-and-12 to set up the go-ahead score. Rather than go for the extra point, the Ducks tried once more to convert the two-point conversion. The Huskers took five minutes to go 65 yards to take the lead.
No. 4 MI 45, Colorado 28 – At Ann Arbor, Mich., De’Veon Smith gave MI the lead with a 42-yard run early in the third quarter and the No. 4 Wolverines pulled away to beat Colorado.
The defense’s ability to do that wasn’t very clear after the Ducks’ second drive of the game.
The momentum flipped in Oregon’s favor after Prukop connected with Nelson for a 25-yard gain on 3rd-and-27 from the OR 34 with just over three minutes left in the third. On their first drive in the fourth, OR ran in a touchdown from 1 yard out.

OR regained the lead early in the fourth quarter when Brooks-James had his third scoring run of the game, a 1-yarder that put the Ducks ahead 32-28 after the two-point conversion failed.
