Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has played down any injury concerns over Daniel Sturridge after the striker was replaced in the second half of the 2-1 victory at Chelsea on Friday night (16 September). For Klopp, the team will always be king.

The Reds have emerged as potential Premier League title contenders following Friday night’s 2-1 victory at Chelsea.
“I have no idea what that will be, but I think it makes football much more enjoyable when you really feel this togetherness”.
“This afternoon there were really hard decisions to make with Roberto [Firmino] – a very good player and it was only a little issue, but I had to make the decision, in the end, to say it was not possible [for him to play]”, Klopp confirmed after the win over Chelsea.
Liverpool’s win away to Chelsea this evening gave them a record for the season so far that is as impressive as it is surprising. We are together, and we want to go this way together. “I enjoy it more!” smiled Klopp when asked about his hugging habit. That’s important because it was a bad season and I don’t want to repeat that. So when I see them, when you can really see how they fight, with the last drop of fuel in their machine, it’s like pffff! “I love this, really!”
Liverpool controlled possession and Chelsea appeared happy to sit back and soak up the pressure, but they were caught out by a quick free-kick in the 17th minute. On Juergen Klopp’s watch, Liverpool has been strong against Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, and the Manchester clubs, remaining unbeaten in six away games against them, and losing only once in 11 matches. “We defended excellently, and deserved the three points”.
“We feel on a good way, but we have to prove it. That’s all the truth, but in the end we have to prove it every week – or in this week, every three days because on Tuesday we have the EFL Cup against Derby, which will be a nice game too”.
Sturridge threatened again midway through the first half with a shot from a narrow angle on the left that flashed across the goal after being played in by James Milner.

Liverpool now lie third in the table with 10 points from five games, and with German goalkeeper Loris Karius and midfielder Emre Can on the comeback trail following injury, things are looking good for the red half of Merseyside.
