Reds run riot as Leicester visit Anfield
The Reds were cruising against the Foxes behind goals from Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, and looked poised for more, but then Lucas happened.

Goals from Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane put Liverpool 2-0 ahead, only for terrible play by emergency centre-half Lucas to hand Jamie Vardy a goal for the visitors.
Liverpool restored their lead 10 minutes into the second half, as Georginio Wijnaldum turned provider to tee up Adam Lallana, who rifled the ball into the top corner from the edge of the box.
The change was made just before the game, with the Reds’ training session at Anfield ahead of their first home game of the season taking place wit the red nets still in place. “It was a good challenge because we can be really strong, but Leicester have big quality and we had to show we believed in our style” manager Jurgen Klopp said.
Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp has implored fans to stop singing his name during matches to help his side stay focused and avoid complacency.
Liverpool’s only goal this season is to qualify for the Champions League, and with one league game per week, there’s arguably no excuse to ignore Sturridge for the striker role (if he’s fit).
“We knew we had to do the job today and that is what we did”, said the German.
Klopp also admitted that Lucas, who gave Leicester a glimmer of hope with a poor mis-control, was not fully prepared to play the entire game.
“We said that at half-time and I thought in the second half we were outstanding again, on the front foot and got the goals at the right time”.
When quizzed about the impact of the duo at a news conference after the game, Klopp questioned why other players were not given a mention.
“Liverpool played better than us and they deserved to win”.
“We were waiting for this kind of football”. We are going be ready to try and beat them.

“We have to clean our minds”. One of our strengths last season was, when we lost a match, we had a very good reaction.
