Sony has denied Bethesda the ability to let user upload mods to be used on their home console.
Farming Simulator 17 comes to PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 25.
To make things even more insane, Farming Simulator 17 is doubling up, re-confirming mod support will be available for this year’s farming game right at launch on both PS4 and Xbox One.
Games with the icon on the packaging “may have enhanced visuals, frame rate, HDR 10 support, or increases in resolution”, writes Sony on the PlayStation 4 Pro product page. According to a report by Game Spot, mod support for the PS4 was available as a beta test back in June this year.
While the settings are now in place, there’s currently no games that support HDR, although many are in the works through Sony’s forwards compatibility program. Do you blame Sony for the decision?
Jack Sipich, founder of Absinthe Games (video game developers for PlayStation, Xbox and PC), said in a statement that developers are not allowed to charge consumers for patches or even the PlayStation 4 Pro feature updates, based on the report of Polygon.
