“We felt it, we heard it, the restaurant went real quiet, the 26-year-old Gonzalez told the Associated Press”.

De Blasio said the explosión was a “very serious incident”, and confirmed that “initial indications (showed) that this was an intentional act”.

Clinton, asked about Trump’s saying that a “bomb” had gone off in NY, said it was “important to know the facts about any incident like this”, adding, “I think it’s always wiser to wait until you have information before making conclusions, because we are just in the beginning stages of trying to determine what happened”.

Cuomo said about 1,000 State Troopers and National Guard members will be stationed at public transportation sites around the city as a precaution.

No one was hurt, and de Blasio said there was no evidence of a connection between the two blasts.

The AP reports that a second device was found four blocks from the scene in a white bag appeared to be a pressure cooker attached to wiring and a cellphone.

Pressure cookers packed with explosives and detonated with timing devices were used by two MA brothers in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing that killed three people and wounded more than 260.

Police, firefighters and emergency workers gather at the scene of an explosion in Manhattan on September 17, 2016, in New York City.

Clinton said it was important for the nation to support the first responders and the investigators trying to determine what happened, and appeared to call Trump out for speaking without official confirmation.

“We have to let this investigation unfold”, she said.

Earlier Saturday, one of three bundled pipe bombs placed in a trash can along a 5k race route to be run by Marines detonated in Seaside Park, New Jersey.

After waiting on his plane for about 13 minutes, he took the stage and reported what no news outlets or law enforcement had yet: that a “bomb” went off in New York City.

“I’ve been briefed about the bombings in NY and New Jersey and the attack in Minnesota”, she said. But boy we are living in a time - we better get very tough, folks.

Donald Trump used the opportunity to continue to tout his intention to get “tough and smart and vigilant” as president. “It’s a bad thing that’s going on in our world, in our country and we are going to get tough and smart and vigilant”. No injuries were reported. The suspect was shot dead by an off-duty police officer.

Surveillance footage of the explosion, including video from cameras at Orangetheory Fitness in Chelsea, captured bystanders running through the streets, ducking from debris as windows shattered all around.

What we don’t know: Some of the victims closest to the explosion were at a loss for how the blast occurred. He added that the site of the blast, outside on a major thoroughfare in the fashionable West Side Manhattan neighborhood, was being treated as a crime scene.
