Israeli forces have shot dead a Palestinian who they say stabbed and wounded a soldier in the West Bank.
Late Thursday, another Palestinian was killed by Israeli soldiers during a raid in the Hebron area.
The man was one of two people sought for suspected criminal offenses, according to the Israeli military.
An Israeli military spokeswoman said the Palestinian stabbed the soldier at a security checkpoint in the West Bank city of Hebron.
Israeli police said that the incident occurred after they tried to check if Amro (seen below) had Palestinian papers.
“There is a lot of concern here between Palestinians and Israelis that if something is not done in terms of a peace process, then these attacks are just going to continue”, Al Jazeera said. A Palestinian man stabbed an Israeli soldier during what the authorities called a routine security check and was shot to death.
An Israeli soldier was stabbed and moderately injured outside the West Bank settlement of Efrat.
Since the start of October, Israeli occupation forces have killed at least 228 Palestinians.
On the same day, a Jordanian man was shot dead after he allegedly attacked an Israeli police officer with a knife in occupied East Jerusalem, according to a statement released by the Israeli police.
More than 200 Palestinians have been killed in alleged attacks or in clashes with Israeli forces over the past year, while 35 Israelis have been killed in the same period. Security forces opened fire, killing one of the Palestinians and wounding the other.
An anonymous IDF official told Times of Israel, “The motivation and inspiration to carry out attacks against Israelis remains strong”.
The attacks, a vehicle ramming, three stabbings, and rock and bottle throwing, came after a seeming downturn in the violence against Israelis that began with the Rosh Hashanah holiday past year.
In the Gaza Strip on Friday, a Palestinian medical official said Israeli troops at the border fence east of Gaza City shot and slightly wounded three Palestinian youths. The latest round of US -brokered peace talks collapsed in April 2014.
“Israel is flagrantly employing a systematic and wilful policy of summary executions against the Palestinian people; such provocative acts are in direct violation of global law and conventions”, she said on Saturday.
