Adrian Peterson not freaking out about his latest starting quarterback

“To be honest with you, I always look at it as, I carry my load”, Peterson said after the Vikings’ final preseason game last Thursday.

The former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback was traded to the Minnesota Vikings last week in after a catastrophic knee injury suffered by Minnesota starter Teddy Bridgewater in preseason practice.

The latest jarring blow came just before the beginning of this long-anticipated regular season, when quarterback Teddy Bridgewater’s left knee collapsed during a routine non-contact drill.

With just about a week left before the season starts, Bradford, 28, needs to learn the curve.

Entering his second season in Minnesota, Hill knows the Vikings’ offense. For one, losing a first-round pick in next year’s draft will cause the Minnesota organization to miss out on an opportunity to get top playing who’s capable of elevating the team’s game. The goal then by Bradford’s camp, it appeared, was to attempt to get Bradford to Denver, where he would have inherited the starting job on a defending Super Bowl champion with an overwhelmingly terrific Broncos defense to support him.

But the Eagles grabbed Wentz, and Bradford responded by skipping some voluntary offseason workouts. It’s the same Bradford we’ve been watching all summer, only now the reassuring blandishments are being issued on behalf of the Vikings, instead of the Eagles. So you don’t really have time to take it step by step. But Pederson also had Chase Daniel, the steady veteran backup who’d been with him in Kansas City when Pederson was a Chiefs assistant, as an option. It’s a role that not everyone is able to handle because there is a lot of uncertainty that comes with it and the role on the team can often change in an instant.

On the surface, Bradford (65 percent, 3,725 yards, 19 TD, 14 INT) wasn’t anything special previous year, but he did improve throughout the season.

The Minnesota Vikings are choosing to keep their quarterback plans under wraps for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans. And now they have. “The price was too high”. But the Vikings are in win-now mode and Peterson is not getting any younger. So there he was, two weeks after signing to join the purple Freeman was suiting up as the starting quarterback for Monday Night Football on the road against the New York Giants. Perhaps. But the Vikings can worry about that if and when it happens. But Bradford is now the present.

Did Philadelphia sell their season with Bradford?

Days leading into the season opener and the Philadelphia Eagles are still in trade talks to solidify their roster. But given the circumstances, we know the pressure comes down on the line. “You’ve got to be ready”. SB50 MVP Von Miller and much of the Denver D returns, and they were the real reason they won it all a year ago, so this may be an experiment in how far a team can go with no perceptible offense.
