Broncos release Mark Sanchez after lackluster preseason

Denver won the Super Bowl with quarterback Peyton Manning, who promptly retired. Sanchez, however, was beaten out by second-year pro Trevor Siemian, a seventh-round pick in 2015 from Northwestern.

The Broncos signed Davis to a one-year deal to provide depth behind newly appointed starter, Trevor Siemian, and rookie Paxton Lynch, who have only one regular-season snap between them. He was released by the Super Bowl 50 champions on Saturday when head coach Gary Kubiak named Trevoe Siemian as their starting QB for the season.

Denver asked Colquitt to take a substantial pay cut off his 2016 salary and put him in a head-to-head competition with Dixon throughout training camp and the preseason.

Apparently the Broncos have had enough of Mark Sanchez and his fumbling ways. It would be kind of surprising if Sanchez doesn’t get at least one start this year, but that depends if he’s with the Broncos by this weekend. His only National Football League regular season appearance so far was in game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on December 20th, 2015, in which he took a kneel down to end the first half (and yet, Siemian has a Super Bowl ring, which is one more than Cam Newton has).

Lynch, the No. 26 pick overall in this year’s draft after a standout career at Memphis, was 13 for 22 for 214 yards and two scores, both to Jordan Taylor, but had an interception returned 29 yards for a touchdown by Gabe Martin.

Mark Sanchez could take the spot of veteran quarterback Tony Romo if the Dallas Cowboys decide to place him on the eight-week injured reserve (IR).

Head convinced Siemian to come out by telling him he would be the starting quarterback on the junior varsity team.

Sanchez, who played four seasons with the Jets, led the team to two AFC title games in his first two years.

Sanchez then made his way to the Eagles where he played the last two seasons. “We’ve got some great football players on this team, we’ll figure out ways to win football games if he’s not here, And that’s what we’re going to do”.
