On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time”, host Bill Maher stated that he wanted to eliminate “the big celebration of militarism. First of all, you are enabling pure evil”, Maher said, when Conway, a longtime guest of Real Time, appeared via satellite on the show.
“I actually think we’re going to win, Bill”.
“I think if we really look at policy, voting for Trump is voting against our best interests as Americans, as workers, as people of color, as women”.
Washington, meanwhile, urged viewers not to be distracted by the “very smart, very articulate, handsome women” – namely Ivanka Trump and unflappable campaign manager Kellyanne Conway – serving as the dopey developer’s surrogates.
Washington also shared her thoughts on one specific (and controversial) Trump policy, regarding maternity leave.
But it was when Maher brought up the “enthusiasm gap” that Hillary Clinton seems to be facing with millennials that Washington responded with her most impassioned comments of the night, calling out Trump as being broadly against the best interests of many Americans.
