Donald Trump says women should get birth control over the counter
The comments appeared to differ both with what some Republicans have proposed in the past, and – in the case of Medicaid – aspects of Trump’s own policy proposals on his website.

Dr Bornstein declared Mr Trump in “excellent physical health”, and noted that his parents lived into their 80s and 90s, but did not note that the elder Mr Trump had Alzheimer’s. The episode will air Thursday at 1 p.m.
The incident set off dueling disclosures Wednesday by Clinton and Trump, with Clinton releasing a detailed letter from her physician describing test results and her current health, and Trump taping an appearance on “The Dr. Oz Show” with television personality Mehmet Oz. In an interview with The View in March 2006, he told the cohosts, “I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her”. “But there is a fairly large percentage who can’t afford it”.
A spokesman for Mr. Trump’s campaign, Jason Miller, clarified the comments in an email to Bloomberg, saying the presidential candidate had not proposed Medicaid expansion. On his website, he calls for turning the program into a grant given to states, letting them manage the program as they see fit. He had a normal EKG and chest X-ray on April 14, although his campaign declined to answer questions as to the circumstances of the two tests. Under his plan, “states will have the incentives to seek out and eliminate fraud, waste and abuse to preserve our precious resources”, Trump writes. His campaign said Trump was releasing “medical records”, as many other White House contenders have done, but Trump disclosed nothing beyond the one-page note.
“When you are running for president, I think you have an obligation to be healthy”, Trump said on “The Dr. Oz Show“.
During the interview, Trump repeatedly voiced his support for over-the-counter birth control – a stance that is diametrically opposed to the Republican Party’s views.

“Your testosterone is 441, which is actually good”, Oz said, drawing laughter from the audience. “I am not in favor of prescription for birth control”.
