The Cowboys fell to 1-12 without Romo since the first of two broken collarbones last season in Week 2. It is something the team, like all teams, reserve for wins.

On his first series, he led the Cowboys on a 15-play, 70-yard drive that resulted n a field goal.

They technically did not “close out” the Cowboys in this game, either. They had struggled big time without their main man, since 2007 they have won only ten games and lost 24 games when Romo wasn’t on the field.

Hairopoulos: It’s as simple as not being able to get the ball in the end zone and having to settle for four field goals and just the one touchdown – an eight-yard rush by Ezekiel Elliott. Here were his numbers for the game: 25/45 for 227 yards no touchdowns and no Interceptions. And he was far from awful.

On the positive side, the linemen kept rookie quarterback Dak Prescott off the turf. Despite this, Prescott handled his debut well. “He’ll make those catches”. That is something that needs to be worked on, and the blame may not be as much on Prescott as the coaching staff. The play calling seemed to be timid in nature with a mix of runs and short passes. “A lot of people go through it and don’t get through it, don’t get this opportunity to claim what they once were or they once had”. The lack of efficiency running the ball also has to be addressed.

The Giants ran the ball on their first five first downs of the second half.

So yes, there was some sputtering from Prescott as the game moved along. Instead, Ole Miss Alum Eli Manning brought the Giants to victory. All of the latest information about how to watch the game is listed below.

The main thing is that Prescott looked and performed like a solid National Football League quarterback. Winning the first game is nice, and it certainly takes the pressure off a rookie head coach who breaks the ice on his first attempt. He just thought he could make one defender miss and pick up a few more yards for Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey before he headed toward the sideline. I can not recall any passing game that went down the field, most passes were check downs to Tight-end Jason Witten or a running back circle out of the backfield. It was Cruz’s first game in almost two years because of injuries. Bailey would get the most consideration, as he was his usual flawless self. The yardage total was the most against NY and the TD total tied the highest in an National Football League game.

We now have to see if he can continue perform well. Holding penalties really hurt the Cowboys by putting them in long situations that they expected their rookie QB to get them out of. We’ve just got to get back to work and get better next week. Stadium in Arlington, Texas, former President George Bush along with former first lady Laura Bush were on hand for the pre-game coin-flip and 9-11 Salute.

There should be bright times ahead for Dak Prescott.- Erich Schlegel-USA TODAY Sports
