Wentz gets prime-time stage as Eagles meet Cutler, Bears
Coaches, players and FANS are expecting things from Agholor this season, so hopefully that’s the 1st touchdown of at least 8 this season.

Joe Douglas arrived as the Bears college scouting director in the spring of 2015 with a reputation as a rising talent evaluator who was credited for turning the Ravens on to Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco.
Paul Catrino 1 point: Philadelphia Eagles 28 Chicago Bears 13 – Jay Cutler was sacked 5 times in week one and will face a more potent threat in the Philly front seven.
He left before the Bears found their next quarterback and arrived in Philadelphia after the Eagles traded a bounty of draft picks to move up to select Carson Wentz No. 2 overall after Cal’s Jared Goff went No. 1. While his protest has continued, players from other teams and sports have joined him.
The Philadelphia Eagles dismantled the Cleveland Browns by a score of 29-10 to start their year off on a positive note. Former Eagles rookie Myke Tavarres, who was released at final cuts, originally planned to not stand for the anthem in the final preseason game, but then changed his mind. And, as you likely know by now, the rookie didn’t throw an interception against Cleveland.
Now, I don’t expect Carson Wentz to be as dynamic every week as he was in his National Football League debut, but he at least proved he won’t be completely overwhelmed as a rookie. That one drop came from Matthews himself, but we can all agree he made up for it with the touchdown catch.
The Wentz Wagon takes to the road for a Monday night performance against the Bears.
“There is a definite brand of football that we played in the AFC North with the Ravens that was honed from years of playing the Steelers and the Bengals”, Douglas said. We’re going to have to work on some silent snap counts and some different things.
The trick, though, is … that aggressiveness with discipline. Wentz seems like a leader, a guy who walks onto the field and takes command. We know they’re going to make their mistakes. It was clear to many in the organization dating back to December, when the Browns held intense draft meetings, that the newly-empowered analytics department, soon to be spearheaded by DePodesta, strongly preferred Goff. “That will give us an opportunity to have some success”.
Wentz’s effectiveness against the blitz didn’t make a particular impact on Fox or Fangio.
The Bears’ secondary can handle all this if they play as well or better than last week. “I didn’t see anything special either way”.
Pederson said Saturday: “If they want to do something teamwide, I’d definitely be for that”. “On tape last week he executed very well, especially for a rookie”.
Browns chief strategy officer Paul DePodesta recently said the Browns weren’t convinced Wentz would be a top-20 quarterback in the league. “I think I started listening to other things and started worrying about other things”.
1st down: Can Carson Wentz do it again?

Many have cautioned this week that the Bears aren’t the Browns, that they’re a new challenge for Wentz. Special Teams played well.Darren Sproles was his usual “catch me if you can” self and the punter Donnie Jones was kicking the ball as if the Brown’s owed him money.
