In Dallas And Across U.S., Demonstrators Rally Against Dakota Access Pipeline
The bottom line for the Standing Rock Sioux tribe is and will always be protecting our lands, people, water and sacred sites from the devastation of this pipeline.

Pipeline supporters disagree. They say the Dakota Access Pipeline is a $3.7 billion project to carry 470,000 barrels of oil a day from the fields of North Dakota to IL.
Two protesters who bound themselves to equipment remained at the construction site early Tuesday afternoon, Preskey said.
Community members and those involved with the Fort Collins Native American population are organizing the event to show support for thousands who have gathered in North Dakota to protest construction of an oil pipeline on sacred lands that would go under the Missouri River. The anti-pipeline demonstrations took place in Lebanon and Lancaster counties, as well as in Philadelphia, where President Obama made a visit to stump for his former rival, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
Organizers are planning a protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline in Denver Tuesday evening.
“With a decision on the pipeline delayed indefinitely, the federal government shares in the responsibility of ensuring that peace and order are maintained”, Gov. Jack Dalrymple said in a statement.
According to Gmeiner, the Dakota Access pipeline would carry fracked oil from North Dakota to IL, cutting under the Missouri River less than a mile upstream from the Standing Rock Sioux’s drinking water supply, as well as through the Tribe’s sacred and historical land.
“We are committed to completing construction and safely operating the Dakota Access Pipeline within the confines of the law”, Kelcy Warren, chairman and chief executive officer of Dallas-based Energy Transfer Partners LP, said in the letter to employees, which was provided to media.
“People are sick of being run roughshod over by corporations”, Hill said.
The state government said oil production in June, the last full month for which it has data, was around 1.02 million barrels per day, down 16 percent from the peak rate in December 2014.

Asked Tuesday if the removal indicates Energy Transfer Partners is backing down on its plans to build the pipeline, spokeswoman Vicki Granado underlined comments in an internal memo saying the company is committed to the project.
