Armstrong battles through cramps to lead Huskers
It was the second time that Freeman broke the 200-yard mark in his career.

They still failed the math.
Nebraska’s 35-32 win over OR has got them back in the college football polls released Sunday afternoon.
NEBRASKA: The Huskers made a good start to getting back on the national radar, turning up their running game in the second half and getting a poised performance from Armstrong.
Cam Pedersen kicked a 37-yard field as time expired and North Dakota State, of the FCS, rallied to beat No. 13 Iowa 23-21 on Saturday for its sixth straight win over an FBS opponent. Starting running back Royce Freeman left the game after this series with a leg injury.
OR came out of the game firing and took an early 8-0 lead. “My wife and I decided that we had time for one more great adventure, and it felt like good timing for me with what was going on at Oregon State, that it was finally, probably time”. “Whatever happens from here on out, take care of those guys and love them up, the next guy has got to be ready to go”.
Fortunately for OR, running backs Tony Brooks- James, Kani Benoit, and Taj Griffin picked up the slack on offense (combining for 205 yards rushing) which really shows the depth of talent that OR has in the offensive backfield. The pocket collapsed on him, yielding only a three-yard gain and giving possession of the ball back to Nebraska with less than 40 seconds remaining.
Huskers were up to the challenge in the final minutes. “Obviously, the penalties killed us”.
Nebraska used an 11-play, 80-yard scoring drive to go ahead in the fourth quarter Saturday, and held on to beat OR 35-32 at Memorial Stadium.
“Fourth-and-9 for the ball game”, Helfrich lamented. He was kind of in the wrong spot.
“Our coaches believe in us, and we believe in our coaches”. That would be Oregon’s last score of the afternoon.
After 87 yards rushing with two touchdowns in Oregon’s opener, a 53-28 victory over lower-tier UC Davis, Freeman collected 207 yards on 21 carries and two scores against the Cavaliers last Saturday at Autzen Stadium.
“It’s just all based on look”, Helfrich explained. “We adjusted going three wides (receivers) and spread out, which helped us have better numbers and better angles”.
OR regained the lead early in the fourth quarter when Brooks-James had his third scoring run of the game, a 1-yarder that put the Ducks ahead 32-28 after the two-point conversion failed.
After falling behind by eight points and facing a third-and-26, thanks to a personal foul on Cameron Hunt and a holding penalty on Doug Brenner, Prukop calmly completed a 25-yard pass to Nelson.
OR answered with a 75-yard touchdown drive when running back Benoit ran 41 yards for a score on fourth-and-one, but the two-point conversion failed, and the Ducks trailed 28-26.
Just moments ago the senior quarterback followed the block of running back Devine Ozigbo on an OR linebacker, popped through a hole, faked out a safety and ran to the end zone from 34 yards out to give Nebraska a 35-32 lead Saturday in Lincoln.
Ozigbo spurred consecutive touchdown drives in the third quarter, carrying 11 times for 53 yards as the Huskers took their biggest lead of the day at 28-20. After the game, Campbell said that the injury was not of the “extensive” variety. “I really don’t know what the problem is”.
“We’ve definitely found our rhythm”.

The Ducks had silenced the red sea after Springs returned a backwards pass by Armstrong to the 50-yard line, and Griffin exploded through the line of scrimmage for a touchdown run on the next snap to make the score 20-7. He finished the game with six tackles of his own.
