After a whirlwind 12 hours, Sam Bradford is ready to get to work.

As it turned out, it was. The Eagles traded Bradford to Minnesota in return for a first-round pick in 2017 and a fourth-round pick in 2018. He regretted the decision after the Eagles traded several draft picks to select Wentz, and Bradford skipped some voluntary workouts in the off-season.
“Chase Daniel to start the season, Carson Wentz to finish”, said Dave from West Chester. Wentz went down with a hairline fracture to his ribs in the first preseason game. The first target game on the schedule: September 24 at home against Washington. With an emerging receiving corp, and a Pro Bowl caliber tight end and a solid backfield the Eagles offense could be very good in a couple years if Wentz gets his experience now rather than later.
The ending of the Sam Bradford Era, of course, means the beginning of the Carson Wentz Era isn’t far off.
Roseman told Spielman on Friday morning the Eagles needed a first-round pick as well as another “high pick”, or their continuing talks would be “useless”. It’s not affected by the trade. And we felt like that was the reason to pull the trigger on this trade. As such, Bradford will serve as a temporary fill-in for at least a season for the more dynamic Bridgewater, and if it’s any consolation, he is, once again, a big upgrade over Hill. At the same time, we’re trying to building something great.
“We had to make a very hard decision on what’s going to give us the best chance to win”, Spielman said, adding: “I understand at times there’s a premium you have to pay”. “We have a lot of flexibility with our draft”.
Starting with how this affects the Eagles, it not only gives them (likely) a few draft picks, but it also gets rid of a bad locker room presence.
“If we didn’t have the confidence in how our team is playing and how we’re kind of structuring the team and quarterbacks on the team, we couldn’t do this”. Some believe that the Vikings are a super bowl caliber team, but the they still have an unproven offensive line and a young defense that could fall through.
“This was not our blueprint”.
“Just excited to be here right now, anxious to get into the playbook and start learning the offense”, Bradford said.
We can’t wait to see what happens next.
Bradford, who was acquired by the Eagles in a trade with the Rams about 18 months ago, set franchise records last season with 346 completions and a 65 percent completion percentage. “The ability to improve our team has really expanded by this move”, Roseman said.
