Samsung Galaxy Note 7 too risky to use — USA agency
Use of and recharging of Samsung Galaxy Note smartphones during in-flight are also banned on Nok Air and Thai Air Asia planes and passengers were advised not to load the devices in their check-in baggage.

“Every Garuda Indonesia passenger who has Samsung Galaxy Note should deactivate the device at any time during the flight”, wries Garuda Indonesia in a statement on its website.
The body said that it is working with Samsung to determine whether a recall of the device and exchange are enough of a solution to the matter.
Samsung has told South Korean consumers to use replacement phones which it would provide on a temporary loan until a new Galaxy Note 7 equipped with fault-free batteries is available. Samsung plans to provide Galaxy Note 7 devices with new batteries in South Korea starting on September 19.
A worldwide recall was issued after reports that several dozen of the new devices had suffered exploding batteries.
Samsung recalled 2.5 million phones last week after a USA family’s jeep caught fire due to the explosion of the phone.
We’ve seen explosions take place in hotel rooms, cars and in garages.
Samsung has reported a total of 35 cases where the Note 7 has caught fire, majority occurring when the device is being charged. According to its investigation, the company believes that the Note 7’s rechargeable Lithium Ion battery is at fault in causing the fires.
PIA isn’t the the only airliner that has banned Note 7 on flights, earlier UAE, India, Australia and various other countries banned the usage of Note 7 devices on all national airlines.
On Friday, Samsung Electronics America asked Note 7 owners to shut off their phones and exchange them for another device. The Galaxy Note series is one of the most expensive lineups made by Samsung.
ATL is also Apple’s main supplier for iPhone batteries.

Samsung has sold more than 1 million units since the smartphone debuted in August and has manufactured an additional 1.5 million more units.
