“As the team improves, form improves”.

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw insists it’s vital they get off to a good start in a bid to move on from back-to-back defeats when they play Watford in the English Premier League (EPL) football game away on Sunday. They didn’t buy a Messi to go and beat five players and stick it in the top corner all the time. [Having had] no pre-season, he had a very good impact in the first game and it’s normal that, after that, he has a little decrease, “Mourinho was quoted as saying by United’s official website”.

However, the Manchester United manager doesn’t feel it is a problem and has indicated that in different games, Pogba will be deployed in different roles, which he believes the Frenchman is comfortable with.

“I think there are clubs that paid 20, 30, 40 (million pounds), which is a bigger deal than what Man United paid for Paul because you make a relation between what you pay and the club revenue”.

“Paul said United was in his heart, Woodward wanted him at United a year ago and Mourinho had wanted him at Chelsea too, so when the two combined we knew it was right”.

But after successive defeats to Manchester City and Feyenoord, the fee for Pogba is nevertheless attracting attention.

The 23-year-old midfielder is widely revered for his composure and calmness in midfield but former Liverpool forward and Feyenoord winger Dirk Kuyt has said that Pogba was screaming and shouting at his teammates during the loss. I just think in possession Man United were really, really poor.

“I think he needs, as he’s shown at Juventus, a controlling midfielder next to him and I think Michael’s got that controlled ability on the ball”. We need to focus on ourselves and how we start.

“Look, I always say that the best motivation you can have is your own motivation”, Mourinho added.

A good start would certain help United’s chances in Hertfordshire, given the sloppy and unwieldy first-half displays that played a large part in their downfall in both the Manchester derby and their Europa League opener. “I know they want to win, they want to work and that is what we have to do”.
