Gall: CM Punk gave me ‘nice’ ‘motivational’ message after UFC 203 bout

“He probably shouldn’t have his next fight in the UFC”, he told Fight Network.

The 37-year-old has been branded as something of a joke on social media since swapping WWE for the Octagon.

Gall then proceeded to ground and pound Punk with punches while he had him on the mat, and then moved to the hold that would end the fight.

But anyone who steps inside the cage deserves some respect, and McGregor showed that courtesy to Punk.

During the post-fight press conference, Punk – cut, bruised, and with his right ear heavily bandaged – reiterated his desire for another go, noting that even despite the loss, the night was the second-favourite of his life. I’m a fighter, a tough fighter and once I get in there, I let my training take over. This was a hell of a mountain to try and climb. It is one thing to train, it’s another thing to train with a singular goal and that’s what I got in Mickey Gall.

Nevertheless, I think we’ll see the UFC back in Cleveland eventually. “Second-best night of my life, behind marrying my wife”.

Gall made his UFC debut in February, defeating Mike Jackson via rear-naked choke in just 45 seconds. Punk noted that this won’t be his last fight, despite the fact that it didn’t go his way tonight. Punk also insisted that he will be back for another shot to earn his first win.

Former decorated pro wrestler CM Punk is set for his much anticipated debut in the world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) on Saturday. I’m just really, really hard on myself.

“I don’t know what happens from here”, he was quoted as saying on Daily Mail. I’m not just going to shove it and leave it in the middle of the street. While fighting for Dead Serious, Gall was spotted by UFC President Dana White while he was scouting the event. “With that said, this might sound gimmicky, but I’m no gimmick fighter”, Gall said.
