When the question turned to possible spinoffs, Benoiff was equally vague and punted the question to Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin.

Limited Series: “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story”. Game of Thronesearned the most nominations of any individual show, with 23.

There were various dramatizations nearer the time of the trial, including Fox’s 1995 TV movie “The O.J. Simpson Story” and the CBS miniseries “American Tragedy” in 2000, but none had the impact of this year’s TV offerings.

FX chief John Landgraf has emerged as an unofficial spokesman for the age of peak TV, his State of the Union-esque presentations at TCA press tour painstakingly detailing the competitive landscape. We’ve outlined our most anticipated moments of the 2016 Emmy Awards below.

He did not call out Netflix by name, but bemoaned the emergence of Silicon Valley superstars, such as Uber and PayPal, leaving little room for competitors in their space.

Who will win: “Game of Thrones” – The 2015 drama series victor continues to be a ratings juggernaut for HBO, and its “Battle of the Bastards” was the season ending its fans have craved and more.

“It’s particularly bad for our culture when someone seizes 40%-50% of market share within storytelling”. Meanwhile, we know more or less that of Game of Thrones, Mr. Robot and House of Cards deserves the Emmy Award for best drama series. The event will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel on September 18th.

Television coverage for the live red carpet special is on ABC affiliate channels around the country.

Ahead of the show, TV’s best and brightest will don their finest attire and pose for pictures during ABC’s Red Carpet Live broadcast, which begins at 7 p.m. ET. “However, Mr Robot star Rami Malek leads with 8/11 odds”.

And shows like Transparent, starring Jeffrey Tambor as a transgender parent, are opening doors and ushering in new perspectives. Television’s biggest night is upon us. A few years later, the “30 Rock” co-star was seriously injured in a vehicle crash. NBC leads the broadcast pack with 41 nominations, same as past year.

Viola Davis is a good bet to repeat as best drama actress for ABC’s “How to Get Away with Murder”, although Taraji P. Henson could make a run at the award for “Empire”.

PBS seized 26 nominations, 10 tied to recently concluded Downton Abbey.

The three wins for “Game of Thrones” on Sunday and nine wins at last weekend’s Creative Arts Emmys put the series at a total of 38, giving it the record for most wins by a single show.

The series, which came too late for this year’s Emmys, goes into the history of police brutality against African Americans in Los Angeles, including the beating by four officers of unarmed driver Rodney King after a high-speed chase.

Another show that probably deserves to be mentioned is Silicon Valley, the up-and-coming tech comedy HBO series that has just earned itself 11 Emmy nominations, an improvement from the respectable seven bids from previous year.
