RNC Considers ‘Penalty’ For Breaking Promise to Back Nominee
Priebus said about Kasich and Bush, “We’re a private party”. “And I think that people who gave us their word, used information from the RNC, should be on board”.

Dickerson asked, “would the party itself penalize somebody who does not make good on the pledge that they made to support the party nominee?” We’re in the a public entity.
“People need to get outside this Beltway and on the road and see what I see”, Priebus said on CBS’s “Face the Nation”. Ted Cruz, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush have pointedly not endorsed Trump.
“And if they’re thinking they’re going to run again someday, I think that we’re going to evaluate the process – of the nomination process and I don’t think it’s going to be that easy for them.”
There’s a ballot access issue in SC.
“People in our party are talking about what we are going to do about this. It’s just a question”, the RNC chairman said.
The GOP chairman suggested there will be action against former presidential candidates who won’t support Trump – but added “it’s not a threat”. And those participants do not follow through with the promises they made in that process.
It isn’t the first time Kasich’s team, which is sharply critical of Trump’s rhetoric and concerned about his candidacy’s lasting effect on the future of the Republican party, has sparred with the RNC chair.
Priebus’ comments were directed at those who have yet to pledge their support for the billionaire businessman, which includes Texas Sen.
And with less than eight weeks before the general election, Kasich has yet to endorse Trump even though he signed the RNC’s pledge to support the eventual nominee.

If Democrats win Ohio, Republicans can thank Reince Priebus and Donald Trump for potentially handing the state to Hillary Clinton through their inept strong-arming of John Kasich.
