Iranian Cyclist Dies After Crash At Paralympics

Storey’s victory in the road race yesterday was overshadowed by the news that Iranian rider Bahman Golbarnezhad had died of a heart attack after crashing on a descent in the men’s c4-5 race.

Masoud Ashrafi, the head of the NPC, said Golbarnezhad “lost control and he hit the fence or wall”. He was married and had one son. “Thoughts to family, friends & the whole team”.
