Jeb Bush jokes about his presidential campaign in Emmys cameo

The younger Bush returned to primetime television on Sunday during the Emmy Awards for a quick chat with host Jimmy Kimmel.

“Did you know you can make $12/hour driving for Uber?” When Bush asked Kimmel if he was nominated, and Kimmel said yes, Bush said, “Wow, what’s THAT like?”

-The funniest moment, though, came right after Kimmel lost the Best Variety Talk Series Emmy to John Oliver.

“It you run a positive campaign, voters will ultimately make the right choice”, a deadpan Bush said, showing surprising comedic timing and some self-deprecating humor largely absent during his recent campaign run.

Moments later, the ever-nimble Kimmel gained his comeuppance when he introduced the next presenter as, “finally, a Damon with talent”.

As the USA presidential election draws near, television’s stars didn’t hold back on their opinions at Sunday’s Emmy awards, some taking jabs at Republican nominee Donald Trump while others voiced support for Democratic hopeful Hillary Clinton. It was an inside joke between Kimmel and a producer, but Kimmel continued to end several episodes by saying he bumped Damon from the show. “No”, Kimmel said. “He would be at home right now quietly rubbing up against his wife, Malaria, while she pretends to be asleep”. “Oh hey Jimmy, tell your mom I like them apples”, he said.

The Emmys opened with a pre-taped bit in which Kimmel was in danger of arriving late. Just in the opening sketch, Kimmel also joked that, “We don’t have to watch reality shows anymore, because we’re living in one”.

But before tackling Trump, his first targets were Sarah Paulson and her Emmys guest Marcia Clark, who she portrayed on The People vs. O.J. Simpson.

“This must be odd for you, Marcia-are you rooting for O.J”.

The People v O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, which got 22 nominations total and has already won a number of technical Emmys given out earlier, is likely to be another big victor.

He started out with taking a shot at The People v OJ Simpson, but ended things by literally riding in on Dany’s dragon.

“If Donald Trump gets elected and he builds that wall, the first person we’re throwing over is Mark Burnett”. Cue a hug between “Modern Family” star Ty Burrell and “Master of None’s” Aziz Ansari.

But the Oscar victor saved the best “diss” for last, telling Kimmel as he left the stage: “Tell your mom I like them apples.” LOL!

And promptly thereafter, the kids from the hit Netflix original show Stranger Things biked into the arena handing out brown paper bags with peanut butter sandwiches to audience members. He then begins to lambast Downton Abbey’s Maggie Smith for snubbing the Emmy Awards.

Master of None star Aziz Ansari quipped “I'm recommending that we get rid of all Muslim and Mexican people from the ceremony
