Victor Oladipo predicts Colin Kaepernick-inspired protests from National Basketball Association players

Football player Kaepernick has been kneeling during the national anthem since last month, and several NFL players have joined in. I am glad that he did it with silence, which still sent a strong message to citizens within this country. But if you feel like it’s gonna be impactful, that’s on you.

But it is important to remember that Kaepernick and the other athletes are exercising their right of free speech.

We’re not going to encourage anyone to emulate Kaepernick’s actions. “But I no longer put my hand over my heart”. “And if nothing else, what he’s done is he’s generated more conversation around some topics that need to be talked about”.
