Kuyt: Pogba was screaming at United teammates

“The club is too big, the supporters are too passionate for the professionals not to feel that every game is a very important game, so I don’t think they should need a defeat or in this case two defeats to try to give everything they have to give”.

Jose Mourinho has offered another vote of confidence in Paul Pogba, adamant that Manchester United’s misfiring summer signing should not be judged on his world-record transfer fee. Just keep it simple.

“He was screaming at them about the things which were not going right for the team”.

“It’s been a little bit of a struggle for him so far”, Scholes said on BT Sport.

Manchester United fans have not been pleased with the Frenchman’s recent showings after he arrived at the club as the world’s most expensive player.

Scholes suggested Michael Carrick but Morgan Schneiderlin may in fact the answer based on his own showing tonight.

The French global spent four successive years with Italian giants Juventus, winning back-to-back league titles while playing alongside midfield greats such as Andrea Pirlo as Scholes has warned that we have to “remember he came from a brilliant team at Juventus”.

Mourinho is unsurprised that Pogba has been unable to make a significant impact yet, but backed him, and his team-mates, to come good soon.

“And if the players at this age need… the great life, the money, they have to do what they want, I think they shouldn’t need an extra source of motivation”.

Pogba, 23, has made four appearances for United since signing from Juventus but is yet to register a goal or assist. A Luka Modric or a Toni Kroos, and I think these players are available. “But should a manager have to change to fit in one player?” “It’s still very early days, I don’t really know what position he’s playing in, watching him up there [in the stands], I’m trying to find, has he got a position?”
