‘Fault in Our Stars’ husband dies
They’ve been likened to the fictional couple battling cancer in The Fault in Our Stars, and there will be no fairy tale ending for Dalton and Katie Prager.

Their romance began over Facebook when they were both 18 and they married two years later, CNN adds.
Dalton’s health was initially stable enough, he was expected to fly to UK Hospital., where an ICU bed was waiting for him.
The couple’s relationship has been compared to the love story of the 2012 John Green bestseller, The Fault in Our Stars, which was adapted into a film in 2014. The last time Katie and Dalton been together was for their fifth wedding anniversary in July.
Katie and Dalton Prager have a beautiful love story, but they have spent their whole lives fighting to stay alive.
The started to fall in love as they communicated on Facebook, but they knew meeting in person would be risky for Katie. They were never able to reunite for a final kiss.
“That was definitely something I had to think about, but when you have those feelings, you just know”, Katie told CNN.
Despite the fact Dalton had burkholderia cepacia, a highly contagious disease for those who have cystic fibrosis, the pair chose to ignore the warnings and meet.
A Kentucky woman losing her battle with cystic fibrosis was planning to celebrate Christmas in September when she learned her husband has died. Together, the husband and wife waiter for transplants at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Katie had to wait longer and finally after a long fight with her hospital, the Medicare and the Medicaid, she got her transplant in July 2015.
“It gave me some of the best years of my life, “Katie Dalton told CNN”. Although the transplant, at first, had seemed successful, Dalton eventually contracted lymphoma. He was a courageous fighter and “give up” wasn’t in his vocabulary.
The family sought to arrange a medical transport company to take Dalton from Missouri to a hospital in Kentucky, where he could recover and then visit Katie.

Dalton’s funeral is to be held Wednesday in Missouri. A Go Fund Me page has been set up to help cover funeral and medical expenses. “I’d rather have five years of being in love and just really completely happy than 20 years of not having anybody”.
